Everybody Wins DC is a nonprofit organization that has been building the next generation of readers in the DC metro area since 1995

Everybody Wins DC has had a strong congressional presence since its inception. Members of the U.S. Senate were among the first mentors at Brent Elementary School on Capitol Hill. Some of our notable readers include Senator Ted Kennedy and Senator Tom Harkin.

What We Do

By pairing local professionals with elementary students, our Power Lunch program is building the next generation of readers through shared reading experiences. These pairs read together for one hour every week during the school year. Our organization further sponsors opportunities for children to engage with books through the StoryTime program, which gives students the chance to meet authors and illustrators.

EWDC supports its literacy mission by providing the students access to books, an important ingredient for encouraging a love of reading. We provide age-appropriate, high-quality books for both the mentoring sessions and for the students to take home for their personal libraries.
