Secretary of Transportation LaHood Visits Power Lunch Program

By EW!DC / Published: 11/18/2010

Earlier this week on November 16th, Power Lunch students and their Reading Mentors at Amidon Educational Campus gathered together for a very special guest. That guest was U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, a long-time supporter of Everybody Wins! DC (EW!DC).

Secretary LaHood was one of the founding members of EW!DC and in 1995 helped champion one of our first Power Lunch programs, which served 100 students at Tyler Elementary School on Capitol Hill. Secretary LaHood upheld his commitment to the program by serving as a Reading Mentor at that same school for 13 consecutive years.
