Get Ready for the Holidays with EW!DC and Baked by Yael

By EW!DC / Published: 12/14/2011

We are very excited to announce a new partnership just in time for your holiday shopping!  Everybody Wins! DC (EW!DC) is partnering with a local bakery business, Baked by Yael.  The owner of Baked by Yael, Yael Krigman is a longtime EW!DC supporter and Reading Mentor in the Power Lunch Program. Until recently, Yael was an associate at White & Case LLP.  In addition to her work as an attorney, Yael created and managed the community service program in her office.  She is responsible for White & Case’s participation in the Power Lunch Program and sponsorship of EW!DC’s fundraising events since 2006.  EW!DC was fortunate to have Yael’s support as a White & Case employee, and we are delighted to have her continued support and the support of Baked by Yael.

While Yael is now focusing on Baked by Yael full time, she still makes time to participate in the Power Lunch Program and looks forward to spending Tuesday afternoon with her mentee, Juan.  When she’s not reading with Juan, she’s preparing a host of delectable treats, including her incredibly popular cake pops and hand-rolled bagels.  Baked by Yael’s products are made from scratch and contain no preservatives.  We’ve had Yael’s goodies and can attest that they are delicious!

Yael’s philosophy is that all businesses, large and small, have an obligation to give back to their community.  Baked by Yael is no exception.  To that end, Baked by Yael is offering a special holiday promotion.  All this month, when you shop at Baked by Yael, the company will donate 10% of your purchase amount to EW!DCClick here to visit Baked by Yael’s online store and start shopping!

Baked by Yael has a number of fabulous holiday gifts for you to choose from:  Christmas Cake Pop Wreaths, Chanukah Cake Pop Gift Baskets, cookie gift tins, and much, much more. Get your holiday shopping done, raise money for EW!DC, and support a local small business.  Everybody wins!

Testimonials
"Seeing her become more confident and her love of reading increase has been such a joy to watch."
"It's mostly fun to read and watch her become such a confident reader and learn to love reading as much as I do. She is one of my best friends."
"When an adult helps a child, it tells that child how special they are. We send a message to the child- you are important to me- that is powerful and undeniable."
"It's a fantastic program, and I think the mentors get as much, if not more, than the student. You meet wonderful kids and have lots of fun."
"When I read, I learn and grow-- you know, like Jack and the Beanstalk kind of growing and that's really big!"
"I wish Everybody Wins was everyday!"
