Other Ways to Give
EWDC offers a variety of options for people to support our students and our programs. Discover the way that works best for you and start helping children thrive through reading.
Donating stocks, bonds, and mutual funds is a smart and simple way to make a big impact on our programs.
- Your charitable income tax deduction will be equal to the fair market value of the stock, so you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock.
- Because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock you may also save on brokerage fees.
- Whether your stocks are held by yourself or are kept with a bank/broker, it is important that you notify EWDC in advance of making the gift. This will help to ensure that proper crediting and timely acknowledgement takes place.

Join EWDC's community of monthly donors and have an ongoing impact on a child's literacy and social-emotional development.
Many organizations offer workplace giving campaigns that empower their employees to support causes important to them. If your organization runs a CFC or United Way Campaign, you can select EWDC and help children thrive through the power of books and reading.

United Way # 9163
Many employers sponsor matching programs to increase or even double the value of charitable contributions made by their employees or to make contributions based on the number of volunteer hours donated to an organization.
Ask your HR manager if your employer matches charitable gifts or volunteer hours. The paperwork takes less than 5 minutes to complete and can double or even triple the impact of your gift.
A bequest is an excellent way to leave a legacy that will support and sustain our programs for years to come. Bequests offer flexibility and can be structured to fit your personal situation. The gift is revocable, so you can change your mind at any time should your circumstances change.
