Ways to Give

EWDC offers a variety of options for donors to support our work, whether through your employer, planned giving, stock transfer, bequest and more. We have a variety of ways to give. Discover the way that works best for you.

Your support makes an immediate impact – make a one-time gift to support EWDC programs and services. Every gift, no matter the amount, truly makes a difference in the lives of the students, families and communities we serve.

Supporters can make a general gift to EWDC, or make a gift at one of our pre-set giving levels.
To make a one-time gift, visit the donate page.

EWDC's Monthly Supporter program gives you, the supporter, the opportunity to make a lasting difference in a student's life by providing vital financial support throughout the academic year.

To make a monthly gift, select the “monthly” option on the donate page.

Donating stocks, bonds, and mutual funds is a smart and simple way to make a big impact on our programs. Publicly traded stock that has increased in value and owned for more than one year provides better tax benefits than giving cash.

  • Your charitable income tax deduction will be equal to the fair market value of the stock, so you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock.
  • Because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock you may also save on brokerage fees.
  • Whether your stocks are held by yourself or are kept with a bank/broker, it is important that you notify EWDC in advance of making the gift. This will help to ensure that proper crediting and timely acknowledgement takes place.

Many companies (public & private) offer workplace giving campaigns to empower their employees donate to causes important to them. If your organization runs a CFC or United Way Campaign, please include our number in your workplace giving campaign designation.

CFC # 12915
United Way # 9163

A bequest is an excellent way to leave a legacy that will support and sustain our programs for years to come. Bequests offer flexibility and can be structured to fit your personal situation. The gift is revocable, so you can change your mind at any time should your circumstances change.

Does your employer match your donations? Many employers sponsor matching gift programs to increase or even double the value of charitable contributions made by their employees. Here are a few that do: Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, Bloomberg, Kirkland & Ellis, Wells Fargo & Company and BlackRock.

Not sure? Email your HR manager to find out if your employer matches charitable gifts. The paperwork takes less than 5 minutes to complete. That added step helps your favorite charitable organization receive DOUBLE or even TRIPLE the donation benefits.
