On May 7, 2026, EWDC hosted our annual Read to Dream at Pearl Street Warehouse. The evening celebrated EWDC’s reading programs and the positive impact they have on children across the greater DC area. The event also honored Monumental Sports & Entertainment as our 2026 Community Champions Honoree, Amazon's Black Employee Network (BEN-DMV) as our 2026 Distinguished Service Honoree, and Molly Huie as our 2026 Mentor of the Year.

The event raised $287,000 to help local children thrive through reading.
