FILL A SHELF CHALLENGE
Each year, EWDC gives away more than 10,000 free books to children and classrooms. That's more than 10,000 chances to improve a child’s life through reading. It’s also 10,000 fewer books we have to give to students in the following school year.
Can you help refill our shelves with stories that engage children’s minds, encourage their growth, and inspire their futures?
Be part of EWDC's annual “Fill the Shelf” challenge and sponsor a shelf, a bookcase, or more! Looking for a way to honor someone special? Sponsor a shelf or bookcase in their name and share their love of reading with children across the DC area.
Here's how it works: every $5 donated helps put another book on our shelves.
- $100 donation adds 20 new diverse books to a shelf
- $250 donation fills a shelf with 50 new diverse books
- $500 donation fills two shelves with 100 new diverse books
- $1,250 donation fills an entire bookcase with 250 new diverse books
Don't want to fill a whole shelf or bookcase? Simply select your own donation amount and add a few more books to EWDC's collection.
