Read to Dream Page Title

In March 1995, something extraordinary took place. Over 100 students met their new reading mentors, U.S. Senators and Senate staff, for the first time. This marked the beginning of their reading journey and the beginning of Everybody Wins DC.

Now, 30 years later, EWDC is celebrating a generation of impact at Read to Dream. Our programs have helped thousands of kids become stronger readers, more confident individuals, and find joy in books.

Join EWDC, our students, supporters, and friends, to commemorate this moment and celebrate the magic of reading. Read to Dream also raises the funding needed to keep our programs open and accessible for another generation to come.

READ TO DREAM 2024

On May 2, 2024, EWDC hosted our annual Read to Dream event. This special evening celebrated all that is magical about EWDC - our students, our programs, and our supporters. The evening honored Barbara Faculjak, EWDC Board Member, with the Distinguished Service Award and EAB as our 2024 Community Champion. We also recognized the National Mining Association and the National Retail Federation as Co-Champions of our annual Association Book Drive Challenge.

The event raised $335,000 to benefit EWDC, keeping our programs free and accessible to thousands of children. Click here to learn more about the positive impact of Read to Dream 2024.
