For 27 years, Everybody Wins DC has used books to engage children’s minds, encourage their growth, and inspire their futures. And since almost the beginning, CTIA has been by our side helping children reach their potential. That is why EWDC is pleased to announce CTIA as our EWDC Celebrate Honoree, recognizing their longstanding commitment and dedication to our mission, our programs, and our students.
“For more than 20 years, CTIA has helped EWDC bring the power of reading to children, classrooms, and communities across the DC region. Their commitment to our mission has helped a generation of local students fall in love with reading and build the skills they need to succeed. EWDC and our students have been changed for the better by CTIA’s generosity,” said EWDC Executive Director, Jordi Hutchinson.
As one of EWDC’s longest serving partners, CTIA employees have collectively volunteered thousands of hours as mentors, reading with children once a week so they get the literacy and social-emotional support they need to shine. Beyond mentoring, CTIA hosts book drives and delivers diverse reading materials so all children get a chance to see themselves represented on the pages they read.
CTIA was also one of the first to step up when COVID closed classrooms and EWDC pivoted to virtual programming, doing so at a time when they were working hard to keep all communities connected due to the pandemic’s unprecedented disruption of our daily lives. EWDC is the organization we are today because of partners like CTIA.
