The EWDC Book Project distributed more than 1,000 books to students in DC from January 27th to February 12th, a campaign to “Give the Love of Reading” to youth in advance of Valentine’s Day. For National Mentoring Month, EWDC challenged volunteers to write 1,000 encouraging notes to students that would be included in February book distributions through The Book Project. Between January 12th and February 5th, EWDC received more than 1,300 handwritten, homemade, and “punny” notecards to give to youth in future book distributions.
